Cooper and I went to the memorial ceremony for Francesca, America's Hometown Cat who passed away on November 22.
The ceremony was held on the Plymouth water front. There was a nice gathering of people. Some people brought their dogs who knew our special kitty friend. Almost everyone there knew Francesca and loved her.
I recognized many of the people there. Anyone who wished to speak about Francesca was allowed to say their piece. There were tears and laughter shared in memory of this special cat.
Pam (Francesca's owner) and a little girl walked with her to some of Francesca's favorite places sprinkling Francesca's ashes on the ground where she would frequently lay sunning herself. It really was touching and special.
There was a nice display of pictures and memorabilia on a park bench. Right in the middle of the bench was a box containing the rest of Francesca's ashes.
Pam claims that she plans to get another cat when the time is right. We're all hoping she finds another cat who will accompany her everywhere she goes like Francesca did for so long.
RIP Francesca. You will be missed by Many MANY people.
