After Jesse's surgery was finally done, he was returned to his room where Cooper and I waited for about two hours. We sat together on a chair just waiting and waiting. It seemed to take FOREVER!
When they rolled Jesse's bed into the room Cooper got to his feet on the chair to see better. His nose was in the air smelling for his Dad. He could tell something was different. Once Jesse was settled and the staff left the room, I put Cooper on the bed with him. He wanted to investigate but wasn't allowed. Jesse was very sore. I had Cooper lay by Jesse's side where Jesse could put his hand on him. Cooper was happy for any place he was given where he could touch his Daddy. He stayed perfectly still under Jesse's hand for as long as Jesse was still too.
It wasn't too long before Jesse needed to get up to use the men's room. He got hungry too, so he was given a light meal. Cooper did his best to stay close while Jesse ate. He wedged himself under the table and did his best to remain still again. He really seems to understand and be still for as long as it took. He's such a good boy.
