Cooper accepts that sometimes he has to wear something. He would rather not, but when given no choice, he's ok with it. When we go sailing he has to wear his life jacket. When he rides the motorcycle he has to wear his harness. When we go on a halloween ride he wears a costume. For parades he usualy wears red, white and blue beads. Sometimes he has to wear his service vest. When it's cold out and his hair is short we put a sweat shirt on him. In the winter he wears a coat so we can see him in the snow. He refuses to wear things on his head or face, so there is no hope for a helmet or goggles when riding.

So with all this practice with wearing all the different things he needs to wear, you may be wondering how he likes putting things on. Well, that depends on how badly he wants to go. When he REALLY wants to go, he will rush right into the clothes, put his head through, lift his arms into the arm holes. He can be very compliant. On the other hand, if he doesn't want to go, or doesn't understand we're about to go somewhere, he will try to avoid putting on the necessary clothes. He will turn his head, lay down, try to walk away. There is really no mistaking his desire. When he doesn't want to go, he really lets you know.
