Check out the Blog Archives to read about our cross country motorcycle road trip from MA to CA in the summer of 2011. During that trip we attended the Annual 2011 National Women On Wheels® Ride-In in San Jose CA. Then we just rode. We traveled over 11,000 motorcycle miles in what ever direction we wanted to go for 61 days. We visited friends and family, saw the country, met some amazing people. We made memories we'll never forget. These memories are what THIS BLOG is made of! That was only the beginning. We've been traveling and riding and blogging every since then. Enjoy our stories while we make MORE memories worthy of posting here for your enjoyment.

Snow Play

This day was a little warmer than most days we had in February.

He loved going out to play and roll in the snow.

He ran his paths and barked.

When he’s ready to come in he always comes to the door and looks in.

If I don’t come right away, he’ll bark.

Such a good dog.

Push Our Way Out

He couldn’t wait to get out.  First thing in the morning he always goes out to pee.

This time… he had so much fun with the new fallen snow that he wanted to play first.  So cute.

Snow Balls are COLD part 2

This is another day he had been out in the snow playing.

See how bad it gets?  It’s really cold on him and it hurts.

You can see it in his face in these pictures.  He jumps right in the tub every time so I can get this stuff off him quick with nice warm water.

Snow Balls Are COLD part 1

What you can see here is that his face is covered in packed snow.

What you can’t see is he also have all this snow packed against his belly, armpits and between his toes…  And it hurts him if it stays on there too long.

Cooper After He Plays In The Snow

After he plays, Cooper comes in the house covered in snow packed hair.

The snow sticks to him because he’s got hair, not fur.  Fur would let all that snow fall right off because it has a slippery coating.

So I have to shower the snowballs off Cooper with warm water in the tub.  He jumps right in and lets me get the water warmed up for him.

If I leave the snow on him he cries because it hurts against his skin and between his toes.

Snow Play With The Grand Kids

Here is a cute video of Cooper and the kids outside playing in the snow.  My daughter went out with them and took really good video(click).  I never get sick of watching.

And Then They Played

My yard was covered in beautiful fresh snow.  It’s so pretty to look at.

My grand kids had so much fun playing in the snow with Cooper.

Look at all the fun they had.

No Where To Go

Here in Massachusetts we had snow almost every day of the month of February.

Cooper is dying to go out to run and run and run.

But there is no place for him to pick up speed and he gets so balled up with snow he looks like a snow dog.

So he looks from the window a lot and plays inside more than outside.

"See You on the High Ground" Book Signing - Meeting Carlos

Do you recognize this guy?

This is Carlos Arrendondo, the cowboy hero at the Boston Marathon Bombings.  He also lost a son in war and now does his part to honor our fallen soldiers.

We finally officially met Carlos and his wife Melida at the book signing.

As you can tell, Cooper was happy to meet more people willing to pet and love him.

We had seen each other from a distance for the last couple of years.  Finally we met and talked.

"See You on the High Ground" Book Signing with Paul Monti

Medal of Honor recipient SFC Jared Monti's story is now available in E-Book & paperback. Foreword written by former Chief of Staff General George W. Casey, Jr. Details on www.seeyouonthehighground.com.

We attended the book signing for this book.

We have become friends with Jared’s father Paul.

It’s a great honor to rub shoulders with a man like him who has come out of such a devastating time as when he lost his son in battle, to come back and serve our military as he does.

My book has been signed by Paul Monti and by the author of the book is Len Sandler.

The signing took place in a hall that is now named in honor of Jared Monti.

Cooper always makes an impression when he’s at an event.  This time he was happy to say hi to Paul, as he usually does when we see him.

So Comfie

To me, these pictures of Cooper sleeping in with me, with the morning sun coming through the window…

Under the warm blankets in on a chilly winter’s weekend day…

Is comfort at it’s very very best.

Someone Is Out There

Cooper loves to watch out the window for people to walk by or someone to come visit.  He will usually bark at people…

Whine at other dogs…

Or stand here like this and look at me if he thinks there is something out there that he would like to get out there and investigate.

Good Lovin'

What a lucky boy.  He can just lean up on someone and get scratches on his chest.

This must feel so good.

I’ve known Cooper to stay still for someone to pet him for a LONG time.

I know I’ve given out before him.

Redwood RV Park Pictures from 2011

In 2011, while we were on our cross country trip, Jesse’s bike broke down and we were able to pull into an RV Park in California.

They rented us an RV site for $20 a day and gave us access to any tools, the phone and any thing we needed while we stayed.

It was in a forest of Redwood trees.  HUGE HUGE HUGE trees.  Bigger than I’ve ever seen anywhere in New England.

Recently I found the Face Book page of that RV park so I went looking at pictures.

We were in there!  All these pictures are ones I pulled off this FB page.(click)
