Check out the Blog Archives to read about our cross country motorcycle road trip from MA to CA in the summer of 2011. During that trip we attended the Annual 2011 National Women On Wheels® Ride-In in San Jose CA. Then we just rode. We traveled over 11,000 motorcycle miles in what ever direction we wanted to go for 61 days. We visited friends and family, saw the country, met some amazing people. We made memories we'll never forget. These memories are what THIS BLOG is made of! That was only the beginning. We've been traveling and riding and blogging every since then. Enjoy our stories while we make MORE memories worthy of posting here for your enjoyment.

Space Cats?

My daughter comes over every day while I’m at work to feed Cooper.  One or two days a week she might bring her laundry and hang out for the day with him so she can do her laundry too.

Cooper loves these days.  He gets to have company all day.  Someone to nap with.  Someone to bother just a little bit, but he gets away with it because he’s too cute to be annoyed with.  Public shaming is all he has to endure.  My daughter puts this stuff up on FaceBook.

Goat Barn

Recently we visited our friend who gives us goat milk for Cooper’s belly aches.
Checking out all the goat smells

She saved milk and froze it for us.
Wanted to climb up to the top of the bales of hay

Every time we go over there we stay for an hour or more.

This woman is so interesting and has done so much in her life.
He also tried to get between the bales

This time we got to meet the goats.  That fat white goat in the front isn’t fat at all… she’s very pregnant.

We hope to get there to meet the baby goats.  They should be born within the next few weeks.

Attention to Patriotism

Sometimes I wonder if Cooper understands what behaviors belong to what situations.

This isn’t the only time he has stood by my side when we did the Pledge Of Allegiance.  It’s almost like he knew to stand.

A Real Blast From The Past

Here's a real blast from the past.  This was taken in the apartment we came home to from our cross country trip in 2011.  Being it was Halloween, it seem as though it was probably right around Cooper's 5th birthday.

We were only in this place for 5 months while we looked for a house to buy.  We really made some nice memories in this little apartment.

Loves This Game!

I don't know when or where this picture was taken.  I think it was my apartment.

Cooper is standing on my son's back.  Cooper loves this game!  I'll bet he was barking right in my son's ear.  Feeling like King Of The Mountain!!!

Yesterday, Christmas, Was Our 2,500th Post

How appropriate is it that yesterday, Christmas… was our 2,500th post.

It’s been almost 7 years.  Cooper is 11 years old now.  I guess we still have a few more years of great adventures together.  Wait till you see what we have planned for this Spring!

Goats

We went to get some goat’s milk for Cooper’s belly.

It’s supposed to help with his bad belly issues.

Cooper got to meet the goat who’s milk he drinks.

He seemed very interested in the goats but couldn’t get too close.

Maybe in the spring we’ll get up close.

Fluffy Winter Pics

Look how fluffy!

These pictures were taken a few years ago in the winter.

I would let his hair grow long to keep him warm all winter.

I don’t let it get this long any more because it seems to hinder his mobility.

I got him some shirts to have him wear so I can cut his hair when it gets uncomfortable for him.

I have to admit he looks like a big stuffed animal, but it’s a lot of work for him to be this cute.

Black Tie

I think Cooper was about 4 or 5 years old here.  We found one of Jesse’s old bow ties and put it on Cooper’s neck to take pictures.

We still have the bow tie somewhere.  The thing that really gets me is this is before I let Cooper’s ears grow long.  Looks weird to see it now, but then I really liked it a lot.

Two Years Ago

It doesn’t seem possible but it’s been two years since our car accident when I broke my ankle.

Cooper was in the car too.  Somehow he didn’t get seriously hurt.

He was achy for a few days but otherwise all he cared about was to stay with me.

And he did… in the ambulance… in the emergency room… on the xray table…  He never left my side.

Proud Purpose

We have found such proud purpose in our lives.  We honor veterans by showing them our appreciation for what they have done to fight for our freedom.

I know Cooper doesn’t understand any of that but he loves the attention he gets when I make him up and bring him along.  He brings comfort to veterans and he brings me together with the right people who I can talk to about our motorcycle group that can get help to veterans in need.  We are a powerful team in going out to uplift whomever we touch.

Sleeping Baby

Cooper is one of very few dogs that will sleep in the arms of a person when they are exhausted.  When we have a particularly long day, Cooper will ask to be picked up.  When i pick him up he kind of flops over my shoulder and closes his eyes.

One time, when he was about 4 years old he fell asleep over my shoulder like this and began to dream.  That kind of dreaming where dogs feet twitch in their sleep like they are dreaming about running.  It’s very sweet.

Glasses

When Lucas got his glasses we posed Cooper with them.

I’ve found a few older pictures and I love them so much I’m going to sprinkle them in here with newer ones.

These are at least 2 years ago.  He’s so patient with us.

Bacon Toy Video

Here’s the video I promised.

He did this for an hour.  The toy was soaking wet when he was done.

Bacon Toy

Cooper likes toys that more or make noises.  So much so that if you give him a toy with a string, he will pull it.

This is a bacon lovers toy with all kinds of bacon things to say.  He played for an hour.

Wait till you see the video tomorrow.

Gonna Do It Again

We’re going to do it again.

I don’t know how far we’ll get or how long we’ll be gone.

I don’t even know yet it we’ll be going solo or with some company… but we’re going on another road trip next summer.  I’ll keep you posted as things come together.

It doesn’t seem like it could be 2 years.

But we are just past the 2 year mark.

A car accident that put me out of work for 2 months.

Cooper stayed by my side every minute.

WINNER

At one of the events we went to recently, this flag was on the raffle table.

It’s hand made locally by a friend of a friend.

We bought $25 worth of tickets and WON!

First Snow in Fall of 2017

Here it is… our first snow in the fall/winter of 2017/18.

It’s not much bit it’s enough to make Cooper really happy.

His favorite thing to do is roll.

There will be more… He’ll roll plenty this winter as he usually does.

Footprints and Noseprints

To love my dog is to love even the stuff he leaves behind.

Sometimes it’s foot prints made of mud or snow…

Sometimes it’s a nose print on the storm door or my windshield.

No matter what or where, I love that he leaves things behind for me to take pictures of.  Each leaves me with a different memory.

All Snuggled In

Every now and then Cooper will let you hold him while he’s sleeping.

This was one of those days.  My house is old and drafty.  It was so chilly I think he was happy for the warm snuggle.

Happy Gotcha Day

This is Cooper on the day after I got him.  See the date?

Day before yesterday was our Gotcha Day!  11 years ago.  Awesome day and even better ever since then.

VFW 4- Lap Surfing - Decides To Stay With Pete

Cooper found Pete in his rounds of laps to surf.

He loves Pete.

This is where he settled down to stay.

Happily.
