Check out the Blog Archives to read about our cross country motorcycle road trip from MA to CA in the summer of 2011. During that trip we attended the Annual 2011 National Women On Wheels® Ride-In in San Jose CA. Then we just rode. We traveled over 11,000 motorcycle miles in what ever direction we wanted to go for 61 days. We visited friends and family, saw the country, met some amazing people. We made memories we'll never forget. These memories are what THIS BLOG is made of! That was only the beginning. We've been traveling and riding and blogging every since then. Enjoy our stories while we make MORE memories worthy of posting here for your enjoyment.

Loading The Truck

Loading the truck was hard work for everyone but Cooper.

His most difficult job was to stay out of the way.

I made him stay up on the boxes and we loaded the cement on the bed of the truck.

If he forgot here and there he always had help getting back to where he was supposed to be.

Well Behaved At Lowes

Time to get the stuff at Lowes for the next part of the project.   We needed cement and sona tubes.

I just drop his leash on the floor so I can help.  Other than a little sniffing he stays right where I left him for the most part.

Bye Bye Diggie

The back hoe was dropped off and picked up by a flat bed trailer pulled by a truck.

Cooper was very interested in that process when they came to drive it away.

He never did get to ride on the diggie but maybe next time if we ever do that again.

Dumpster Video

Dumpster exploration at it’s best.

The stuff in this dumpster has been the making of my porch for probably 100 years… unearthed for his inspection.

Dumpster Play

When all the digging was done and the sniffing was sufficient, Cooper stayed up at the highest point where he could see everything.

He seemed to approve of the progress made this far.

I wish I could be Cooper sometimes.

Things like this are so much fun for him.

Dumpster and Diggie

It was really nice having the dumpster to put all the stuff in that we wanted to remove.

There were huge pieces of concrete that no one person would have been able to lift.

When all the big stuff had been moved I allowed Cooper to check it out.

Well… if you want to know the truth, during the break where the machine wasn’t running, Cooper snuck into the dumpster.

There was only a little bit left to put in so I allowed him to watch from the dumpster.

Digging

When the machine took a break for a few minutes I allowed Cooper in the hole.

We had to dig down to pour cement to put the new porch on.

Cooper loves to dig so he got to work digging like he was being paid $100 per hour.

Seemed to know what he was doing too.

A real pro!

Diggie

To finish demolishing the porch we had to rent a small back hoe.

Cooper saw this coming and wanted to ride in it but that was not allowed.

To operate this you have to use both hands and both feet.

No way to hold on to an excited and wiggly Cooper.

But he was allowed to watch from close by.

He loved to see this thing in action.

Wanna Get In! (video)

With all the construction being done around my house, Cooper has had to stay out of the way.

But when he has the chance to do the things he LOVES… He’s all about it.  In this case, all he wants is a ride in the wheel barrow.

Supervises Demolishing The Porch

Cooper is here checking out the progress from the door.

See him?

There is no porch, but he’s able to watch from the door if we prop it open.

What a mess!

Inspecting The Porch Demolition

The most recent project at my house was the rebuilding of my big porch.

The big concrete porch was sinking and causing a real problem.

So it was smashed by a hammer to begin the process of tearing it out.

Cooper was very interested in this.

It was filled with rocks, pottery, broken bottles and random rusted items including silver ware.

It was a lot of work to do by hand and would need a machine to finish.

Cooper was very curious and he sniffed all he was allowed to get close to.

Manomet Point

We spend an afternoon riding some local roads recently.  I had never taken my bike on some of the roads we were on.

We ended off on Manomet Point where people like to go to see if there are any seals on the rocks.

There were two seals this day.

Cooper didn’t care much to look for seals when there were so many good smells right under foot.  He had a tough time paying attention enough just to pose for pictures as you can see.

But I did get one good one with seals in the background.

the 2 top rocks on the top right each have a seal on them

Gold Star Family Memorial Dedication Flag Line

If you saw yesterday’s blog I told you about the Gold Star Family Memorial Dedication.

Bikers were honored to be in the flag line for this event.

In these pictures you can see us among other groups who also took part.  We stood for over an hour like this.  Cooper was perfectly well behaved.

We feel like it’s the least we can do to honor those who fought and died for our freedom…

… and their families who are left here to live on without their hero.
