Check out the Blog Archives to read about our cross country motorcycle road trip from MA to CA in the summer of 2011. During that trip we attended the Annual 2011 National Women On Wheels® Ride-In in San Jose CA. Then we just rode. We traveled over 11,000 motorcycle miles in what ever direction we wanted to go for 61 days. We visited friends and family, saw the country, met some amazing people. We made memories we'll never forget. These memories are what THIS BLOG is made of! That was only the beginning. We've been traveling and riding and blogging every since then. Enjoy our stories while we make MORE memories worthy of posting here for your enjoyment.

Solo Trip 48 - Pee Break

After I cut Cooper's hair I brought him outside for a break so he could pee.

I planned to give him a bath next and didn't want to bring him out while he was wet.

The rain had let up so there were plenty of great smells for Cooper to follow.

I gave him plenty of time to walk around since he would have to stay in till he dried after his bath.

He always seems so happy to get all that hair off.

Solo Trip 47 - Hotel Hair Cut

Cooper's hair was really too long for how warm it was getting to be outside.

I didn't want his hair too short because I thought it should be long enough to protect his pink skin from the sun.

Since we had a whole day with nothing to do, and only one day left on our trip, I decided to give him a day of pampering.

Solo Trip 45 - Rainy Day

We could have headed home the morning after Christie visited...

But we had heavy rain that kept us in our hotel room for an extra day.

Neither of us minded this at all.

It was better than getting soaking wet trying to get home in this downpour.

Solo Trip 44 - Christie Visited Us

Our friend Christie lives in PA.

When we left OH, we went to a motel near Christie.

She came to visit us in our motel.

She brought coffee and cup cakes.

Cooper wasn't a fan of the coffee.

But he LOVED the cup cakes!

Solo Trip 43 - Fire Works Finally in Ohio!

My brave boy!  No one was holding him still and yet he didn't try to get away either.  AMAZING!

Solo Trip 42 - Used To Be Scared To Death Of Fire Works

Here he is!  Like a pro!

He's so brave now.

Proud Mama right here.

Look at him just laying on the ground...

... without even trying to run away.

Solo Trip 41 - Waiting For The Fire Works

Fire works are not Cooper's favorite thing.

But we did a lot of training to see if we could eliminate some of his fear of the noise.

He seemed a little on edge here even though he didn't know what we were about to see.

Somehow... some way he seemed to know something stressful was going to happen.

You'll see... He did REALLY WELL.

Solo Trip 40 - Good Emotional Match For Cooper

Some dogs just naturally get along.

They can feed the emotional stability of each other very easily.

This dog is one of a few that is that way with Cooper.

They just enjoyed walking around and sniffing together.

No one needed to be the boss.

Solo Trip 39 - Happy To Get There

We finally made it to my friends house in Ohio.

Cooper was THRILLED to see she had a comfy couch.

And a cute girlie dog for him to meet.

Solo Trip 38 - The End Of A LONG Day

According to my intentions... I had planned to camp as much as we could.  The exceptions to camping were, 1. If we had a friend to stay with we would accept their hospitality.

...and 2. If there was bad weather coming we would get a room somewhere.  This was one of those times when exception #2 came into play.
If you've seen yesterday's post you know why.

Solo Trip 37 - Storm

After I dropped my bike, I only had about 150 miles left to travel, and I actually considered pushing through it...  UNTIL

I saw the sky in this picture I took of my broken windshield... BIG RAIN COMING.  Nope! Not riding any more!

Solo Trip 36 - Dropped My Bike

Broken chrome accent piece
After leaving that really bad camp site, which by the way was loud till 4am, so I didn't get much sleep...

broken mirror
I tried to ride hard to get all the way to my friends house in Ohio.
scratched
I shouldn't have done that on a lack of sleep because it resulted in me dropping my bike at a stop light.
Chrome vent fell out

Cooper did NOT get hurt at all.

Solo Trip 34 - Ready To Relax

Cooper was happy to know I was ready to relax after we ate.

I think he fell asleep as soon as we laid down.

Solo Trip 33 - Dinner After Dark

After I got us all set up for the night I pulled out some left over burger and chicken from our last meal.

Cooper ate fairly well even though he was really tired.

All either of us wanted to do was sleep.

Solo Trip 32 - Wisconsin Camp Ground

I chose a camp ground right off the highway to stop at for a night.

It was NOT a five star camp ground, but it was good enough to get us through till morning.

Solo Trip 31 - A Nice Walk

One of our stops had a lot of grass all around the parking lot.

I let Cooper off leash to just walk and sniff for about 20 minutes.

Sometimes he just needs that.

You could tell he really enjoyed it.
