Check out the Blog Archives to read about our cross country motorcycle road trip from MA to CA in the summer of 2011. During that trip we attended the Annual 2011 National Women On Wheels® Ride-In in San Jose CA. Then we just rode. We traveled over 11,000 motorcycle miles in what ever direction we wanted to go for 61 days. We visited friends and family, saw the country, met some amazing people. We made memories we'll never forget. These memories are what THIS BLOG is made of! That was only the beginning. We've been traveling and riding and blogging every since then. Enjoy our stories while we make MORE memories worthy of posting here for your enjoyment.

July 21 - Cooper's Castle

The motorcycle part Jesse was waiting for came this morning and he was finally able to fix the bike.  We were all so happy to be able to load up and get back on the road.  Even Cooper walked with an excited spring in his step.  He could tell we were moving on again today.

We rode for a little while but Cooper and I needed our sweat shirts because it was getting chilly.  Jesse pulled off into the parking lot of a place called the Wagon Wheel Burl Yard in Orick, CA.  There were a lot of really nice wood carvings in the yard.  They also do clocks and other things that are on display inside.  They deliver anywhere and do custom orders.  I think I would like to get something from this place but it would have to be delivered because there is no way I can load my bike with anything else big so delivery in my case will come in handy.

We talked to the owner for a little while.  While Jesse was talking to the guy I took Cooper to pee and we went to get a closer look at a big castle carving in the parking lot.  It was carved by the owner and his friend from what looked like it must have been an old hollow tree trunk.

There was even a little fish pond in the middle of it.  Of course Cooper couldn't resist trying to go in the water after them.

It was so cool I couldn't resist taking pictures of Cooper posing in and on the castle.

I think you will agree that this was the perfect Cooper Castle if there ever was one.

Comfortable and Natural in a castle suggests ROYALTY perhaps?
