Check out the Blog Archives to read about our cross country motorcycle road trip from MA to CA in the summer of 2011. During that trip we attended the Annual 2011 National Women On Wheels® Ride-In in San Jose CA. Then we just rode. We traveled over 11,000 motorcycle miles in what ever direction we wanted to go for 61 days. We visited friends and family, saw the country, met some amazing people. We made memories we'll never forget. These memories are what THIS BLOG is made of! That was only the beginning. We've been traveling and riding and blogging every since then. Enjoy our stories while we make MORE memories worthy of posting here for your enjoyment.

Halloween Ride

Jesse works at a gated retirement community called Linden Ponds.  He is a painter.  I worked there part time for a year too as Security Dispatch.  I loved it there, but it was my third job. I decided I needed to cut back down to two jobs again.  Having three jobs didn't leave much time to do anything else.

The folks who live at Linden Ponds have a lot of fun things to do to keep busy.   They have everything they need in their community and never need to go outside.

For the last two Halloweens I have ridden with New England Thunder, all of us in costume, on our annual Halloween ride.  We were a collection of bugs, characters, spooky things, funny things, fuzzy things, all led by a big white chicken and tailed by the Grim Reaper, riding the streets of familiar local towns.  We would beep at pedestrians and wave.  Those in the group with loud pipes would crack the throttle when the time was just right.  We can never resist making our way into the gated community at Linden Ponds to make a couple passes through the mile of road way within the gate.  The residents who live there may be walking their dogs or driving their cars or just outside for some fresh air when we passed through.  They stand and watch, smiling and waving at the parade of 20 or so bikes coming through their community.  They laugh and point when they see Cooper standing and looking at them, barking and wagging in his little Super Man cape.  You may wonder why he's dressed like Super Man.  Well he isn't.

Smarter than the average MAN!
More adorable than a basket full of kittens!
Able to lick all his ice cream from his own cup!
Look - on that bike - It's a toy, It's a dog,
IT'S "Super Cooper"!!

Yes, he's dressed as himself as a super hero. Not much of a stretch.  I'll be the first one to say he has changed my life for the better.  You could say he's like a hero to me.

So New England Thunder has entertained the folks at Linden Ponds for two years, and plan to do it again next year.  We have so much fun having created our own private little parade for anyone to enjoy.  This past year was particularly fun.  We passed another group of Halloweeners on Motorcycles.  Bikers always wave to each other, but this time was with extra excitement.  They didn't get to go through Linden Ponds with us, and they weren't accompanied by Super Cooper, but they seemed to be having fun none the less.  Wouldn't it be great fun to try to team up with a bunch of other Halloween runs with other bike groups in costume and make a pass through Linden Ponds this year.  I think I might just suggest that.  Now I'll have to get a better costume.
