Check out the Blog Archives to read about our cross country motorcycle road trip from MA to CA in the summer of 2011. During that trip we attended the Annual 2011 National Women On Wheels® Ride-In in San Jose CA. Then we just rode. We traveled over 11,000 motorcycle miles in what ever direction we wanted to go for 61 days. We visited friends and family, saw the country, met some amazing people. We made memories we'll never forget. These memories are what THIS BLOG is made of! That was only the beginning. We've been traveling and riding and blogging every since then. Enjoy our stories while we make MORE memories worthy of posting here for your enjoyment.

June 25 - One Thing After Another

On June 24th we were supposed to leave on our cross country trip... but that wasn't possible because the repair place that had Jesse's bike wasn't done with it yet.  Between riding to NH, waiting around till they were done with the bike, and the traffic jam on the way home, it took him 10 hours to pick up his bike.  I can see five hours, but not 10.

So we left the house on the 25th LATE.  Poor Cooper knew there was something BIG about to happen.  He followed, looked, whined, wondered and occasionally nearly panicked because I got in a car without telling him to come too.

We also had to make it to Plymouth to put our feet in the water to begin our trip in the water on the East Coast before riding all the way to the West Coast.

In These pictures, you can't tell

But we are actually near the Mayflower

This is a very popular tourist attraction

We finally hit the road in the afternoon to get as far as we could get before dark.  Jesse was having some bike troubles but we rode on as much as we could.

When it began to get dusk we looked on the GPS and found a camp ground close by.  We stopped and checked in as a storm was approaching.  We didn't get our tent up fast enough.  Yup... we got wet.

We had Cooper get inside the tent while we were putting it up with the help of a neighbor camper named Eric, who Cooper wasn't finished greeting yet, rain or no rain.

After some frustration, we got our tent to livable condition, changed our clothes and went to bed.  Cooper was glad to sleep between us on our air mattress for the whole night.  We all slept heavily.  Cooper and Jesse slept so heavily in fact, that they didn't hear the raccoon outside our tent helping himself to our left over dinner.
